09 May 2017

PostFinance, Associate of NetComm Suisse, has acquired a minority stake in the Swiss start-up RaiseNow. RaiseNow provides digital solutions for fundraising. Customers include charities and other non-profit organizations as well as companies engaged in social activities.

RaiseNow is a leading provider of online fundraising solutions. The company, which was founded in 2015 and is based in Zurich, already has over 200 customers in ten countries, including well-known non-profit organizations and companies which employ RaiseNow for their global corporate social responsibility activities. RaiseNow facilitates access to financial resources through digital channels, saving customers the expensive of building their own online solutions. RaiseNow is currently planning to extend its services and increase its international expansion.

Growing market with interfaces to payment transactions

Like other sectors of society, fundraising is also shifting more and more to online channels. With the acquisition of a minority stake in RaiseNow, PostFinance is participating in this growing market with its numerous interfaces to the core payment transaction business. This financial investment is in line with PostFinance’s strategy of participating in future market changes at an early stage and anticipating new business models through corporate venturing (investment in start-ups). It also has positive social effects in the area of online fundraising, an area that PostFinance is already committed to: As an exclusive payment partner, the financial institution has supported the “Gutes Tun” (“Do good”) app right from the start. The app is a joint initiative between Swiss aid organizations in which RaiseNow is actively involved.
