Today NetComm Suisse President, Carlo Terreni, visited the Swiss Post headquarters in Bern, Switzerland to learn firsthand how La Poste is adapting and expanding its capacities to help more Swiss companies reach their customers through e-Commerce.
As part of wider discussions on the ongoing and fruitful NetComm Suisse/Swiss Post collaboration, Mr. Terreni was also offered a tour of the Innovation Lab, which is fueling Swiss Post’s march into the future.
The Hub aims to support Swiss Post project teams in idea and solution processes and fuel an interdisciplinary collaborative work environment. The technologies it works with a wide-ranging and cutting-edge, such as 3D-printing, artificial intelligence, smart tools and many others, that may be employed either in back-end systems – to help with logistics management, for instance – or the so-called front end, which are things likely to be experienced by consumers more directly.
Mr. Terreni said, “the amazing thing about the Swiss Post idea hub, is not just the sheer number of people they have here or the incredible new technologies they’re working with, but the very fact that an institution like Swiss Post supports such innovation means that the technology has a much, much greater chance to become a commercial reality. What starts life as blue sky thinking here, has a really good chance of becoming reality, and this nexus, where ideas come to life, is what we need more of in Switzerland.”
Swiss Post is intensely focused in its activities on delivering success for businesses and consumers, especially through e-commerce product development, and hopes to offer a packed year of vibrant and exciting innovation to support business growth in 2019.
